Our Purpose

The Hillsborough Recovery Coalition (HRC) was established for the purpose of enhancing the quantity and quality of support available to people seeking and experiencing long-term recovery from addiction.

HRC supports all persons struggling with substance use and mental health disorders; however, we give special attention to persons who, because of seemingly insurmountable barriers resulting from stigma, prejudice, or discrimination are often denied the opportunity to embrace recovery.

What We Offer

Peer Services

Peer support specialists have a unique asset - personal experience. Peers are able to offer support, guidance, and hope by using their own experiences as people in recovery from a mental health condition, substance use disorder, or both.

By fostering shared understanding, respect and mutual empowerment, peers help individuals stay engaged with their recovery process to increase the chances of long-term recovery. Peer support is a highly effective non-clinical approach to sustainable recovery focused on whole-person wellness. With transparency, collective recovery planning and a strength-based approach, individuals are able to find their personal path of recovery

Our peers educate on the multiple pathways of recovery, allowing each individual the power to make informed choices to fit their unique journey towards recovery.

HRC is committed to offering a supportive, non-judgmental environment that empowers each person to find their own way.
